Hi Chaplain Mark,
I was happy to find your new website. I’ve been checking the old one to get an update on life at Ft Hood.
I trust you are all settled into life on the base and that your house etc is working out well. I can see you are enjoying your work… Hope the family is doing well. They look great in the pictures. Everyone is growing, children I mean!
We have had a very busy fall with lots of travels (2 reunions) and several sets of house guests. It’s been great fun renewing old friendships. God has been so good to give us so many wonderful friends!
Our son is due in from Chicago with his dog this afternoon. Our daughter will arrive over the weekend. You know we always enjoy having them here. We are going to Rob’s sister’s house for Christmas Day.
Hope you have a wonderful time in TN. I’m sure you’re all looking forward to seeing everyone there. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Our love and prayers to each of you.
Diane
Hey, just wanted to let you know that I enjoyed looking at your blog and seeing some of your chaplaincy adventures. I’ve been a chaplain candidate for the past years, and in April will finally report for duty with the 82nd Airborne.
I received your blog address from Alan McManus. He has kept me up to date with you all from time to time. We, my wife Becky, Joshua (8), Jacob (6) and Rachel (2), are living in Xenia, Ohio outside of Dayton. I am teaching P.E. at a public school and we are home schooling our children (that keeps us busy). I am also a house church leader. The house church is under the umbrella of a larger “mother church.” We have quite a few Cedarville University students who attend our house church as we are just 15 minutes from the school. Of course, I am sure that you know that Dr. Brown is the president there. It is interesting to turn on the radio and here him speaking in chapel. Brings back great memories of Bryan. Hey, do you remember when we were roofing together and I fell of the top of ladder?
I want to express my gratitude for what you are doing on behalf of our country. I was telling my principal at school just this week that one regret that I have is not having spent time serving in the military. My father is a Korean vet and I am extremely proud and grateful for what he did. Also, I have uncles who served in WW II. I am thankful for all our veterans and current soldiers. Again, thank you.
