I spent Monday through Thursday this week taking a Combat Life Saver course. We were trained in basic skills that will make the crucial difference between life and death for a wounded soldier, or maybe even for myself. Let’s hope I never have to use them.

Oh the poor NCOs who had to suffer through my attempts to start an IV on them when we practiced this in Kuwait prior to the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Thank God no soldier’s life ever depended on me performing this task.
When we or nearby units took casualties, there were plenty of folks to perform the medical tasks. I was much more more focused on on providing spiritual ministry to the wounded, the dying and survivors. That’s where I was needed most.
Good work on the training. I pray you never have find out where you’re needed most.
